الملخص

Abstract: This study examines the legal framework for protecting the informational privacy of electronic consumers in Algerian legislation, with particular reference to Law No. 09-04 related to the prevention and repression of crimes associated with information and communication technologies. The rapid growth of electronic commerce has led to extensive collection and processing of consumers’ personal data, raising significant concerns regarding confidentiality and misuse. Algerian legislation has attempted to provide legal safeguards by criminalizing unlawful access and misuse of personal data and imposing obligations on digital actors. However, despite these efforts, the protection remains limited due to the absence of a comprehensive and specific legal framework dedicated to electronic consumer protection. The study concludes that strengthening legislative mechanisms and adapting them to technological developments is essential to ensure effective protection of electronic consumers’ informational privacy. The study adopts an analytical approach through the analysis of legal texts, combined with a descriptive method to identify existing protection mechanisms.
