Abstract

The topic of payment methods in general is of both legal and scientific importance, as these methods play a key role in all aspects of social, economic, and legal life. Referring to general legal texts may not be sufficient to address all the issues raised or that may arise regarding the use of electronic payment methods, thus resulting in insufficient consumer protection in this regard. Consequently, a number of efforts have emerged attempting to impose regulations on the operation of electronic payment methods. These efforts are not uniform in the standards they impose. While they all aim to establish a minimum level of restrictions on the conditions for operating these payment methods, with the goal of providing the greatest possible protection for consumers, they remain insufficient given the rapid technological advancements in these electronic payment methods.
