Mechanisms for administrative protection of copyright and related rights at the national and international levels

Abstract

The issue of protecting copyright and related rights calls for different legal mechanisms, some of which are entrusted to administrative bodies, and some of which rest with judicial bodies, whether civil or criminal. The Algerian legislator specified its regulation by virtue of Ordinance No. 03-05 relating to copyright and neighboring rights, in addition to a number of executive decrees concerned with this field The aim of this study is to clarify the role of administrative bodies in protecting copyright and related rights. This is because experiences have proven that the individual exercise of these rights is useless, but these rights must be protected under a tight institutional framework, especially since the current technological boom has opened the door to many violations, where crime has become cross-border and calls in addition to an effective international protection.
