Abstract

Dumping, an ancient marine pollutant, has become a critical environmental issue. Protecting the marine environment from harmful waste and toxic residues is an urgent global duty. Various international agreements address this, with some focusing specifically on dumping, such as the Oslo Convention (1972) and the London Convention (1972). Others, like the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (1982), provide broader protections against all pollution origins. This presentation will explore the protective measures these agreements offer to safeguard the marine environment from dumping.
